July 7: Promise fulfilled
While I was listening to this in the evening, it began to rain for real. I went and set out buckets on the balcony to catch the rain sheeting off the edge of the roof. It will make watering the plants a few steps easier next time they need it.
I thought hard about the difference between yesterday and today, what the sky looked like, how it acted. Why did it rain today but not before? I decided that yesterday, even though at times in isolated areas, the sky acted very threatening, overall it was a scattered system. So while it may have rained on one block for five minutes, another block might have gotten no moisture. Today, on the other hand, the sky looked roughly the same in a window-sized view, but the whole picture was of more coverage. The system was larger, thicker, lower. And today it rained.
