Wildflowers, swamp

It's been a few weeks since I visited the park, and there's been (relatively) so much rain since I was last there. But I wasn't prepared for... a field of wildflowers!
They were sown deliberately, I'm sure, because many aren't native to this area, but still, so lovely to see a stretch of all these colors. In August! These are flowers that mostly should have bloomed in early summer, but by then it was already too dry and too hot, so I guess they were just hanging out until the conditions were right. Cosmos, coleopsis, Indian blanket, monarda, black-eyed susans--a riot of flowers. They were in a sunny spot between the swam and the road. The swamp, though, still has no standing water. The cypress trees and knees are just sticking up out of the dirt. But I'm sure it will be okay.
