April 13: Spring garden

Today I planted my container garden! It's a little late in the season, perhaps, but not too bad. There was a lot of cleaning up and shifting of pots to be done first, but I ended up with the following:
1 large pot - full sized heirloom tomato, flat leaved parsley, sweet basil, marigolds
1 large pot - patio sized tomato, curly parsley, marigolds
2 medium pots - cosmos (seeds)
1 windowbox - blue morning glories (seeds)
2 medium pots - pine seedlings (started last year, transplanted)
1 starter pot - pine seedling (infant!)
That's just the new stuff. I also have various other trees, perennial herbs and flowers, including the large pot I planted last year with shasta daisies and silver mound. For some reason, my cat loves to relax in the pot with the willow tree and the maple tree.
You never know what's going to happen in your garden in the next year. Some things are in your control, but many aren't. Still, you get started and have faith. It feels good.
