neverspent: vintage art of a pigeon (pigeon)
[personal profile] neverspent
Today I saw a robin attack a squirrel. It dove at the squirrel as the critter was scampering away and made contact just before the squirrel reached the safety of a shrub. After that, the squirrel perched on a small tree, plastered upside down to the trunk with his head held very alert, wary of more abuse.

An American robin! You expect this sort of thing from mockingbirds, but the robin was a surprise.

Either way, seeing small nonpredatory birds attack mammals never gets old.
