May 8: The farm in May
May. 8th, 2010 08:57 amI've transferred myself to my parent's place, which I refer to as "the farm," for two weeks. Here, the Nature comes in big doses from all directions. You don't have to go looking for it. It's a little higher elevation here, and the blackberries are still in blossom and the fields are full of buttercups. It's so pretty, maybe the most pregnant time of year. With the hills all around and the trees everywhere so tall, it's like we're in the bottom of a huge bowl of green, and when it's overcast the light reflects back and even the sky is kind of green. The horses are getting fat on tall sweet grass and clover and the young vegetables are growing like crazy.
