September 10: Carnivorous plants
Sep. 10th, 2010 04:44 pmThe zoo has a planter full of a variety of native carnivorous plants. I love the idea of carnivorous plants because it just adds to the stunning variety of herbaceous life. There are so many ways for plants to catch and eat animals!

The patterns on the Sarracenia pitcher plant, which I think is a hybrid, were gorgeous. And a close look at the threadleaf sundew revealed that she had already caught two flies!
