April 1: Tiger swallowtail
Apr. 1st, 2011 03:19 pmHappy April!
Today, after about a week, the sun broke out and I stumbled into a pretty yellow tiger swallowtail feasting on the azalea blossoms that are opening everywhere. It was lazy in the sunshine and let me approach it and stay for quite awhile. It had such a fuzzy abdomen! A few minutes later, I saw two others playing with each other above a grassy area. Okay, I don't know if butterflies play. I doubt it; I'm sure it was something to do with mating or competition. But it looks so carefree.
