September 23: Low light
Sep. 23rd, 2010 11:56 pmJust before dark tonight, I went out to sit on the balcony for awhile. I was mentally exhausted and needed a break, and it always makes me sad to waste the end of a summer day indoor. My balcony is a good place. I can almost tune out the traffic below and just concentrate on the plants all around me. And they really are all around me. It's still a jungle, autumn or no.
The little image I found myself focusing on this evening was the long, thin leaves of the cockscomb and the angles they form crossing each other.

That and the way the low, low light made the colors deeper, like if you could look at them hard enough you'd see something you'd never seen before. I told you I was exhausted. I may be getting a little loopy.
