December 15: Gumball birds

The other day, I was looking at all the gumballs on a bare sweetgum tree, enjoying the evening sky colors behind them, when suddenly it seemed that the gumballs were exploding off of the tree. I quickly realized it was a flock of birds in the background, but it was quite an interesting error in perception.
