May 2: Pine flowers

I thought the pine trees would have finished shedding their flowers by now, but they're not. I can still see some clinging to the base of the new growth on the branches. Every time the wind blows or it rains, there's a new layer of the little brown caterpillar-y stalks on the ground, in my flower pots, on my balcony, piled on my windshield wipers. Only a few weeks ago those flowers were sending down showers of yellow dust every time a squirrel shook a branch.
