neverspent: vintage art of ferns (Default)
While I was sitting out on the balcony in the late evening, a mourning dove flew up and landed on the edge. It eyed me, then went about its business pecking seeds from the balcony floor. It was joined by another dove, and they both just wandered around, two feet from me beyond some pots of flowers. I love how tame doves are. It's no wonder humans thought to domesticate some of them. (Doves are pigeons and pigeons are doves, after all. Columbidae.)
