June 14: Hickory leaves in sunlight
Jun. 14th, 2010 09:04 pmI am obsessed with light through leaves, and luckily for me, I walk through a stand of hickory trees every day. Hickories are lovely when their leaves are between you and the sun; the leaves are broad, grow in a pinnately compound composition, and have crisp, well-defined veins and edges. The way the leaves overlap makes fascinating shadows, and the light is the most pleasing glowing green.
