October 30: First frost

That's right, first frost! Probably the second, technically, but the first I got to see. It's not a heavy frost, but it's frosty enough. Frost frost frost. I'm not getting tired of typing it. It made sugary rims on all the fallen oak leaves and covered the few trumpetvine leaves that remain. The morning air was laced with woodsmoke and the vapor of my breath.
